Applications Support Developer

We are now seeking an Application Support Developer to join our busy but friendly IT Team. The application support team provide troubleshooting, bug fixes, service health monitoring and general support on the wide range of specialised systems in use at Moneybarn, both internally developed and sourced from external partners.

The role of the support developer is wide ranging and the successful candidate will be expected to be hands on across all environments and technology. This would suit someone with application support or support developer experience who would like to get exposure to the DevOps environment.

What you’ll be expected to do in the role
  • Work with the team to analyse and triage incoming support incidents
  • Deliver suitable workarounds, interventions and bug fixes for software issues
  • Provide deep level tech support for all applications, 1st - 2nd line
  • Provide development environment support
  • Own the deployment process for software release from the project development teams
  • Maintain application monitors and build new system checks as needed to ensure coverage
  • Configuration of production environments for software systems.
  • Configure business systems within the change management framework
  • Monitor all applications and servers forcapacity, performance, and security, then action as appropriate
  • Assist in the control and maintenance of branching and source control
  • Assist the team leader in ensuring that all systems in use by the business have sufficient support to operate effectively
  • Providing documentation to the team and wider user community
What we are looking for from you

Essential:

  • MS SQL
  • C#
  • JavaScript
  • Basic Windows Servers Administration
  • Knowledge of active directory
  • IIS- Configuration and Troubleshooting
  • Octopus Deploy or similar
  • Working to ITIL best practices
  • Security best practices
  • Understanding of virtualisation technology e.g VCentre/VMWare
  • Azure IaaS
  • Powershell
