Financial Controller

Due to an internal promotion, we are now looking to recruit an accomplished Financial Controller to manage our small team of accountants and finance assistants based in our offices in Petersfield.

As well as being responsible for motivating and developing a busy team of six, you will monitor financial systems and process improvement. Lead on our internal and external reporting, including management and statutory accounts as well as participating in projects as required.  In addition, the role will also involve extensive liaising with external parties including financial institutions, auditors as well as reporting to Group.

To be brilliant in this role you will be ideally ACA qualified and have previous experience of working in a similar position or looking to take the next step up. Strong communication skills, advanced Excel and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff will be integral to this role.

What you’ll be expected to do in the role;
  • Monitor financial systems and controls whilst identifying and implementing updates and improvements
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with all regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported in accordance with applicable standards
  • Collaborate with both internal and external audit to provide information where necessary and to manage auditing process
  • Preparation of statutory accounts across the Moneybarn companies
  • Responsible for the control of all financial transactions, bank reconciliations and production up to TB
  • Participate in other projects as required
What we’re looking for from you

Essential:

  • Qualified accountant with ACA preferably
  • Strong analytical capability and very close attention to detail
  • Exceptional command of English language, with the ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Confidence in interacting with senior management
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Advance excel skills

Desirable:

  • Financial services experience
  • IFRS, specifically IFRS9
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably FCA or PRA
