Financial Planning Analyst

Over the last year, Moneybarn and our customer base has grown larger. With this growth, it has become increasingly important to increase our reporting capabilities. We are now looking to recruit a Financial Planning Analyst. This is a brand-new opportunity to join our friendly Finance team.

For this role we are accepting applications on a permanent or contract basis.

Your role will be to support the delivery of the detail behind financial reports and forecasts. With your excellent attention to detail and your methodical approach to work, you will be responsible for supporting the production and delivery of Moneybarn’s month end accounts and forecasts. These will then be submitted to our parent company, Provident Financial Group (PFG).
You will assist in preparing high quality, easy to digest outputs for Finance and Non-Finance audiences from Department Heads through to the Executive Committee and Board.

To be brilliant in this role, you will need to have experience in business partnering where your excellent communications skills will build and maintain strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. Your highly analytical nature, willingness to take on responsibility and ability to work under your own initiative will ensure that you really shine in this role.

Your main objectives in this role will be to:
  • support the month end financial reporting process to PFG and Moneybarn’s Executive team.
  • support the Moneybarn’s management team with analysis of departmental cost performance and headcount and capital expenditure.
  • production of monthly financial KPIs reporting.
  • support the production of the Moneybarn Executive pack.
  • support the production of the Moneybarn Board reports.
Other duties and responsibilities include:
  • Prepare and maintain the monthly management accounts working file with and integrated profit and loss and balance sheet to enable the delivery of the monthly management accounts.
  • Supporting the management team with departmental financial reports and analysis of cost performance, headcount and capital expenditure.
  • Hold cost review meetings with department managers, presenting performance compared to plan and understanding the root cause of variances and how these may affect the full year forecast and future planning assumptions.
  • Support the Senior Financial Planning & Reporting Analyst in the preparation and analysis of accurate month end submissions to PFG with supporting analysis and commentary.
What we are looking for from you
  • Previous experience working in a similar role.
  • Experience working with a consumer credit / lending portfolio or in the nonstandard market highly regarded.
  • Experience of maintaining whole-business forecasting models, with integrated Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet.
  • Advanced Excel and experience across the MS Office Suite.
  • Part Qualified/ Qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA
