Head of Financial Planning and Analysis

Moneybarn is growing fast and detailed information and analysis is vital to our growth plan. We are now recruiting a highly experienced Head of Financial Planning and Analysis who will report directly to our Finance Director.  We are looking for someone to drive our forward planning and ensure that the business is in the best possible position to make informed decisions.

This role will see all Moneybarn’s forecasting and business information capability brought under one head. We are looking for someone who can come in and hit the ground running and lead our talented team. Your mission will be to ensure that the business has the right information in order to shape our decision-making process. You will also create forecasts and budgets to help our managers and shape our executive plan, along with assessing the profitability of various cohorts and take ownership for product pricing.

A key area of your focus will also be the further development of our FP & A team, through training and guidance. It is therefore essential that you have previous experience leading a FP & A or analytical team. While experience in the financial service sector is ideal, it is not essential, however you will need to demonstrate that you have significant experience in the core areas of financial planning and analysis.

Confident in your own ability and a fantastic communicator, you will quickly establish a clear vision with the leadership team to take Moneybarn to the next level. You will demonstrate an understanding of best practice in developing business information and based on your own experience, you will build your own professional credibility and strong relationships quickly with department heads. Whilst being able to quickly see the bigger picture, you will also be comfortable getting stuck into the detail.

There are three main areas encompassed in the role:

Business planning and forecasting: Managing production of the 5-year plan, producing updates to the forecast to scenario map potential business changes and developing financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.

Business information and analytics: Ensuring that information is delivered to the business in a timely, accurate and consistent manner and improving performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand profitability by channel.

Pricing and commercial profitability: Improving performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand profitability by channel.

What we are looking for from you:
  • Significant experience in the core areas of Financial Planning and Analysis and experience in leading a Financial Planning or Analytical team in retail financial service or high volume FMCG.
  • The ability to lead a team along with the ability to deliver analysis yourself.
  • Leadership capability with the ability to develop the team and ability make recommendations to management based on analysis.
  • Confident and able to make a difference using your own initiative.
