IT Helpdesk Technician

We have an immediate requirement for a IT Helpdesk Technician to join our busy IT Service Desk on an initial 6-month contract.  Reporting to the Service Desk Manager, you will provide line 1st /2nd Line IT technical support of the company’s software, desktop, server and network infrastructure via the IT ticket system.

You will have strong and demonstrable experience of providing support within a helpdesk environment with experience of MS Office, Microsoft operating systems and server-side exposure. You will also need to have strong face to face customer service skills, be pro-active and able to demonstrate logical problem solving skills.

What you'll be expected to do in the role
  • Create, manage and log IT Tickets
  • Configure and set-up users on the Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange along with other business systems
  • Set-up of Hardware equipment such a PC’s and Printers
  • Server administration to include assisting with updates, troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution of faults
  • Support Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems, up to and including Windows 10
  • Support Microsoft Office up to and including 2016
What we’re looking for from you

Essential

  • Proven experience in supporting end users with mainly Microsoft based infrastructure
  • End user control and policy management experience
  • Experience in supporting Microsoft office up to and including 2016
  • Previous hands on knowledge of Microsoft server administration including Active Directory and Exchange
  • Have a good knowledge and management of backup solutions
  • Demonstrable customer service experience in face to face environment
  • Experience of Printer configuration and support

Desirable

  • MCSE specialist certifications in desktop and operating system technologies or equivalent experience
  • Experience of setting up smart phones
  • Experience of VOIP solutions
