Senior Financial Planning Analyst

Moneybarn’s valued customer base is continuing to grow and in turn we need to grow our Financial Planning and Analysis team as part of our focus on continuing to deliver excellent service. As a result, we have a brand-new opportunity available to join our friendly Finance team as a Senior Financial Planning Analyst. This role will be responsible for the reporting of the company’s month end accounts. You will also provide our full year forecast to the Moneybarn Executive Team and our parent company, Provident Financial Group (PFG).

Your commentary, analysis and challenge will ensure that outcomes are in line and consistent with the business key strategic themes and targets. Through working collaboratively across the business at varying levels of seniority you will build and maintain a fantastic working relationship with the PFG Financial Planning and Analysis team. You will prepare high quality, easy to digest outputs for Finance and Non-Finance audiences, from Department Heads through to the Executive Committee. You will deliver the detail behind financial reports and forecasts.

We are looking for someone that is highly analytical who can connect the dots in the data, with excellent planning and organisational skills. Experience working with customer credit/lending portfolio or in the nonstandard market will be highly beneficial. Your willingness to take on responsibility and work under your initiative will make you a star performer in the team.

Your main objectives in this role will be:
  • To support the Head of FP&A in meeting the required deadlines for all financial submissions with appropriate commentary, while monitoring key performance indicators, highlighting trends and providing analysis on the causes of variances to expectation
  • The Production of the monthly Profit and Loss and latest full year forecast update to Group and Moneybarn Executive team
  • To be the responsible person for collating the Managing Directors Report and the Moneybarn Board Report to Group
  • The production of the Moneybarn Executive pack
Other duties and responsibilities include
  • The analysis of financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Being responsible for the delivery and reporting of monthly financial KPIs aligned to key strategic themes, providing commentary and analysis when necessary
  • The preparation of scenario’s and sensitivity analysis based on actual changes to the agreed planning assumptions with explanation to the management team of significant variations and the impact
  • Providing financial support and financial evaluation to Business Case proposals
What we are looking for from you
  • Previous experience working in a similar FP&A role, with a focus on Company: Group relationship
  • Experience working with a consumer credit / lending portfolio or in the nonstandard market
  • Previous experience in the delivery of a planning and forecasting tool
  • Proven experience as a financial business partner, working collaboratively across a business at varying levels of seniority
  • Qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Mathematical/ Statistical/ Finance/Economics or similar numerate degree highly regarded
  • Advanced Excel
