Software Developer

The requirement is for a developer to join the in-house development team to assist with the development of new business systems in support of the company’s overall plans for growth.

We have a mixture of new and legacy systems and the overall strategy is to improve business performance and efficiency with the introduction of new systems and technologies. The primary objective is to consolidate our legacy systems on to a single company wide bespoke contract management system covering all departments from sales through to collections and vehicle remarketing; this system has a heavy reliance on integration with our Access Dimensions finance system and this will also require some bespoke development.

Responsibilities Of The Role
  • Working as part of the IT development team covering the developing of new solutions and working on improvements of our internal .net based contract management solution, various MS SQL database integration and consolidation projects
  • Integration with our core finance system (Access Dimensions)
  • Supporting and modifying existing .net and SQL based business solutions integrated with external agencies for customer identity verification and credit checking etc
  • Reporting to the development team manager to work as member of the in-house development team, developing business solutions
  • Assist in producing technical specifications working with the end user community to understand and develop solutions based on their requirements
  • Provide software technical assistance to other departments and other team members
  • Report to the Development Manager on performance against timescales, specifications and quality requirements
  • Identify any deviations from the agreed plans and carry out corrective actions
Essential skills:
  • Experience in commercial software development with a strong background in providing financial system solutions
  • Solid commercial experience with:
    • net, MVC and Web Forms
    • C# 4.0
    • .Net Framework 3-4.5
    • WCF Web services
    • Visual Studio 2010-2015
    • MS SQL Server 2008R2 - 2014
    • JavaScript/jQuery/AngularJS/Knockout/Ajax
    • Experience working with source control preferably TFS
    • Experience of Object Oriented Design and implementation
    • Solid server side development using C# (not just GUIs or Web)
Desirable skills:
  • Microsoft Certification for C#
  • EID &e-sign experience
  • Exposure to Continuous Integration and Release Management
  • Commercial experience in Agile environment/ practices
  • Support and maintenance experience on production systems
  • Experience of developing performance critical transaction processing applications
  • Experience with Workflow/document management solutions development
  • Experience with Access Dimensions finance solutions
  • Experience with Test Driven Development
  • Knowledge of design patterns – including, but not limited to, DI/IoC
