Software Tester (contract)

We are currently seeking a confident and motivated Software Tester to work as a key member of our testing team, in a fun yet hard working environment.

With a pragmatic approach to testing and proven ability in gathering, analysing, reporting and monitoring defects, you’ll be responsible for the core testing activities during software development life cycles. Your goal will be to ensure all deliverables produced comply with all requirements.

What you'll be expected to do in the role:
  • Liaise with the project team to define and confirm test coverage of functional and regression requirements
  • Write and execute test scripts for both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of core systems and processes, and how those systems and processes interact (end-to-end testing)
  • Raise and investigate defects
  • Collaborate with other testers and developers during the sprint, as well as business SMEs' and UAT when required
  • Assist automation efforts by reviewing, debugging and writing automated tests
  • Provide guidance and assistance to colleagues on any aspect of test planning, automation and execution
  • Proactively report test status to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Provide estimates and deliver to the agreed timescales
  • Review test cases and documentation written by others
  • Run and maintain regression tests
What we're looking for from you:

Must have

  • Proven experience as a software tester within a Financial Services environment
  • Solid understanding of testing methodologies and testing techniques (preferably Agile)
  • Proven ability in gathering, analysing, reporting and monitoring defects
  • Experienced in testing web-based systems
  • Demonstrable SQL skills
  • Reasonable understanding of a programming language (C# preferable)
  • Previous experience with Selenium Webdriver
  • Basic understanding of API testing using Postman or similar (XML/JSON)


  • Experience with Visual Studio Team Services/Azure Devops (desirable)
  • Understanding of version control systems such as Git (desirable)
  • Diploma/Degree in a business or technology discipline (Preferred)
  • ISTQB certified (desirable)
