Which cars scored five star safety ratings this year?

There are many things to take into consideration when purchasing a new car, besides thinking about the gadgets, age and cost – safety is normally top of the list.

The safest cars on the market were recently revealed by Euro NCAP, who offers safety ratings, and score cars out of 100 for adult occupation protection; child occupant protection; pedestrian protection and safety assist systems.

We look at five of the cars that performed best in the last twelve months, and all achieved the top five star safety rating.
