Be sure to take extra care and drive safely today, as Friday (29th January 2016), is apparently the day this year when statistically the most accidents are likely to take place. According to Accident Exchange, statistics say that on the same day in 2015 there were 74% more accidents than the average.

Fridays are historically known for being the busiest day in the week when everyone rushes home for the weekend with the most accidents taking place between 5pm and 6pm, which is an increase of 53% compared with figures between 10am and 5pm. The study examined 35,000 incidents recorded by Accident Exchange between October 2014 and December 2015.

Liz Fisher, sales director at Accident Exchange, said: “The study sheds an interesting light on the seasonal effects on motorists. The combination of poor weather conditions, congestion and likely fatigue at the end of the week means it may come as no surprise that we are approaching peak time in the calendar for accidents.”

We wish you a safe journey!
