The all new Mazda 2  Supermini is set to take sales to the next level. The concept was first revealed at the Geneva motor show back in March and now production has started to bring this little gem to the market.  The premier for this is to be shown at the Paris Motor Show in October, and UK sales are due to start early in 2015.  The prices haven’t yet been revealed but it is expected to be around £11-12,000.

Previous Mazda’s have had a lot of influential design collaboration with Ford but this model is designed purely by the Japanese firm Hiroshima. This accounts for it’s very stylish lines, curves and contours all following the firms unique “Kodo” design theme.

A clean and modern interior encases around the centre MZD connect infotainment system. The same technology is used in the larger Mazda 6 and CX-5 surpermini so you will get to enjoy the same high spec without the price tag.  Mazda are also throwing away the rule book with the trend of downsizing  the engine, there is either a 1.5-litre petrol or 1.5-litre diesel and options of manual or for the first time, a dual-clutch automatic, with the petrol option expecting to provide 60mpg and 80mpg from the Diesel offering.

Mazda have sold over 2.4 million Mazda 2 since it’s launch in 1996, making it a very popular car indeed.
