Whatever you use your van for, you can bet you spend a lot of time in it. Which is why some of these trade van accessories could really help you enjoy your time more in the van, and well, just make your life a lot easier!

We’ve picked our favourite 7 accessories, and we’re sure that if you take the plunge to purchase them you’ll not be able to imagine your life without them.

1. The one for security

Fit your van with a magnetic GPS tracker for that extra piece of mind, but you can also use it as a deterrent for thieves.

Having your van stolen, whilst it’s full of everything you use to carry out your every day work, is an absolute nightmare. Magnetic GPS trackers can be attached magnetically under the van and allow you to track the vans whereabouts anywhere in the world. At around £30-40 it seems a relatively cheap way to keep your mind at ease.

2. The one for breakdowns

If you look after your van and get it serviced regularly, then you’d hope that you would never break down. The problem is, you just never know, and with that in mind its always good to be prepared.

An emergency van kit like this, includes jump leads, tow straps, tyre repair kit, seatbelt cutter, high-vis jacket, emergency foil blanket, non-slip gloves and much more – all for around £20-30. We can guarantee you’ll be thankful for it if you’re ever unlucky enough to break down!

3. The one to stop arguements

As far as work van accessories go, this will probably stop the most arguments.

When you are on the road all the time, working in other peoples homes or maybe sometimes on the start of a building site it’s not possible to plug your phone in anywhere to charge it. This 4 USB port charger fits perfectly into your vans charging port, allowing you and all your colleagues to charge your phones at the same time. If you are lucky enough there might even be a spare port to charge a tablet or even a sat nav if you need to.

4. The one for coffee breaks

Make sure you get a decent flask suitable for hot and cold drinks. This is the perfect trade van accessory.

There are few things worse than working hard all day and being desperate for some water, or just as bad, waking up at the crack of dawn and not being able to get your coffee fix before work.

This Hydro Flask is a huge hit with us, as it’s leak proof, has a flexible cap with a strap, a wide mouth and is BPA free. It’s also insulated and will keep your coffee hot and your water cool – you might even need a few, 1 for each drink choice.

5. The one that's really cool

This USB rechargeable clip-on fan is a must have van accessory for the summer months. Sometimes vans don’t come with aircon, or sometimes it takes longer than you want for the aircon to cool the van down, whatever the issue, nobody likes being too hot.

There’s often lots of you in the front of the van and you’ve been working hard all day, so now you can use this fan to take the edge off the heat.

Better still, they’ll be no fighting on who gets to use the last USB charging port, as you’ll all be wanting to use it for the cooling fan.

6. The one to keep you organised

This van accessory is a little more expensive than the others listed, but we think it’s worth it.

If you are constantly on the go, moving from job to job, then this bit of kit will definitely keep you organised.

A van office or van compartment storage such as this one, can organise your working life but also give you a place to do some work. With a flat surface and plenty of different compartments for tools or smaller items like screws or pens, it will keep everything where it’s supposed to be. Especially when you are constantly on the move. We don’t think you’ll regret it.

7. The life saver

Every vehicle should have a first-aid kit, but one like this in particular holds a lot more than just a few plasters and some antiseptic cream.

It’s got you covered from scissors to hydro gel and emergency blankets. It also guides you through what to do with each medical item, so it will reduce stress if you ever (touch wood) have to use it!

It’s perfect for when you are travelling around as it’s extremely lightweight and would be an absolute life safer if you, or one of your colleagues, needed some quick medical help on a job. We’d say it’s a no brainer.

Have we missed something that you use in your van everyday that you just couldn’t live without? Let us know and we’ll share it with our community of van owners. Just email marketing@moneybarn.com and we’ll get it added to the list.
