This year Moneybarn supported BEN, the automotive industry charity in their annual charity event, Bangers4Ben. This year saw teams – including two of Moneybarns own – head to the Fiat factory in Turin on an Italian Job-themed adventure. The four-day event which started in Dover on 11 October, included heading along one of the world’s best driving roads, the Stelvio Pass, and drop by Lake Como, before heading home back by the 14th October.

The schedule looked a little like this:

Day 1

The teams met in Dover to catch the ferry across to Mulhouse which lies in the east of France next to the Swiss and German boarders. Total – 450 miles.

Day 2

The 200 mile trek to Lake Como via Switzerland and one of the world best (and arguably scariest) driving roads, the Stelvio Pass.

Day 3

If day 2 wasn’t enough, the teams were able to relive the Italian Job as day three saw the 125 miles to Turin and the Fiat Factory, the scene of the classic roof top chase. After a short pit-stop, the teams turned around and began the drive back to Mulhouse, another 280 miles north.

Day 4

After four days, four countries and around 2,000-miles they’ve finally been repatriated to the UK (complete with wine).

There were a few breakdowns on the way,  but with the fantastic support of The AA, who were following along in their vans, road-side repairs meant all but two cars made it back to Blighty. After the rally had ended, each of the cars that made the trip were sold at a special auction at BCA, and raised over £35,000 for BEN.

With amazing support from everyone involved, Moneybarn contributed to a fantastic event and raising money for a great cause.
