Type of motorbike licence you will need
Most tourers are equipped with large engines and if you want to ride anything that’s larger than 500cc, you’ll require an unrestricted A Motorcycle Licence.
You are required to be at least 20 years old and you need to have held an A2 Motorcycle Licence for 2 years to take the unrestricted A practical test.
Alternatively, if you have not been in possession of an A2 Motorcycle Licence for 2 years, and you are 24 years old, you can take the Direct Access route. This involves a CBT, theory tests and practical test.
