Software Tester Team Leader

An opportunity has arisen to join the Moneybarn team as a Software Tester Team Leader. Technology and Change is a vital part of the Moneybarn business and has provided the platform for significant growth over the last 10 years. To support this continued growth, you will be able to effectively lead a test team of 4, consisting of manual and automated testers.

Reporting to the PMO Manager you will be accountable for maintaining and improving application and software release quality through testing activities and implementing a total quality approach throughout the software development cycle. Using your collaborative skills when working with other functions within the Scrum setting, you’ll enhance testing competency and support resource coordination by effectively delegating work to your team.

Your proven experience in a lead role will provide you with the tools to help progress your team members' careers through objective setting, performance and development management. Occasionally you may be required to support your team by picking up manual testing tasks.

If you have a strong background in testing and tool usage, with significant experience in Defect Management and associated processes then you could be exactly who we are looking for.

What you’ll be expected to do in the role
  • Responsible for planning, management and coordination of testing activities for single or multiple projects, plus requests for change and development initiatives
  • Monitoring and ensuring the agreed testing standards and governance processes are followed by the team
  • Manage and support the team to complete defect analysis
  • Contribute to overall test planning, estimating and reporting
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure testing requirements and activities are managed in an effective and timely manner
  • Responsible for management and sign off of all test deliverables for release readiness
  • Ensure appropriate testing methods employed and all testing activities are fit for purpose, with focus on delivering timely and high quality testing
  • Work with line manager to further review and improve existing testing strategy, and assess testing maturity, plus strengths and defects
  • Work with the Development team to contribute to overall SAQ process
What we’re looking for from you

Must have

  • Experience of leading a Testing Team.
  • Familiar with test-program concerns including test environment, trouble reporting and resolution, test design and development.
  • Capability and delivery experience to help support skill uplift and team maturity effectiveness
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking
  • Continuous attention to technical excellence for continuous improvement
  • Self-motivation and ability to motivate others to deliver results
