We need to run a credit check to ensure that we can provide a quote with Moneybarn. We use a soft credit search, which means this search will not show on your credit file until you proceed with a full credit application. Once we’ve received your application we’ll then give you a call to explore with you your monthly budget and the sort of vehicle that will suit you! Here are a few things that we’ll look at during this part of the process:
Verifying your identity and income
An important part of our loan process is ensuring we can verify your identity and address, as well as your income and expenditure. We’ll let you know exactly what documentation we need from you as you go through the application process.
We will only enter an loan agreement with you if we feel comfortable it will be affordable and sustainable for you. During the application process, we carry out affordability checks which means we look at income and expenditure to confirm whether we can offer you finance. If you pass our affordability checks, we’ll confirm how much finance we can offer and over what term, focused on ensuring the monthly repayments will be affordable for you.
If you have already found a vehicle before we’ve approved you for finance, we'll talk to the dealership and begin the buying process on your behalf. If you've not yet found your next car, van or motorbike we can talk you through our vehicle criteria, including the maximum age and mileage.
When you have chosen a car, van or motorbike, we’ll provide you with a full quote ready for you to review. Then, when you are happy with the figures, monthly repayments and we have all the documentation we need, plus you’ve signed the contract with us, we’ll transfer the funds to the dealer and you can collect your new vehicle.
