Looking beyond your credit score
We need to run a credit check to ensure that we can provide a quote with Moneybarn. We use a soft credit search, which means this search will not show on your credit file until you proceed with a full credit application. Once we’ve received your application we’ll then give you a call to explore with you your monthly budget and the sort of vehicle that will suit you! Here are a few things that we’ll look at during this part of the process:
Verifying your identity and income
An important part of our process is ensuring that we can verify your identity, address, and your income. We'll let you know exactly what paperwork you'll need to send to us.
Moneybarn would never enter an agreement if we did not feel that it was affordable and sustainable for you. Based on your income, we’ll confirm the total amount of finance that we would offer to you and the amount that we deem to be affordable for you to spend on finance each month. This ensures that the monthly repayments are affordable for you.
If you have already found a vehicle before we’ve approved you for finance, we'll talk to the dealership and begin the buying process on your behalf. If you've not yet found your next car or van, we can talk you through our vehicle criteria, including the maximum age and mileage.
When you have chosen a car or van, we’ll provide you with a full quote ready for you to review. Then, when you are happy with the figures, monthly repayments and we have validated the proofs and received a signed contract, we’ll transfer the funds to the dealer and you can collect your new vehicle.
