At the age of 14 Moneybarn sponsored Seb Hopkins, a local school boy, just as he was joining the Ginetta Junior Touring Championship in 2019. Moneybarn continued to sponsor Seb, now 18, and in 2022 he joined the British GT Championship as the youngest ever to do so. The car he drove in 2022 was a Porsche Cayman GT4, and in 2023 Seb drove an Aston Martin Vantage GT4. Let’s catch-up with Seb and see what the future holds for him…

We got to know Seb a little better, and asked him a few questions around his career and how the Moneybarn sponsorship has helped him along the way.

Q. What does Moneybarn mean to you?

A. Moneybarn’s sponsorship has given me a platform to race where I want to be, it’s been a good journey. They’ve been really supportive, I couldn’t really ask for any more.

Q. What does Moneybarn’s purpose mean to you?

A. It’s a brilliant purpose, offering finance to people who need it the most, when situations in life have changed things for them.

Q. How do you feel to be representing Moneybarn?

A. It’s been brilliant, the car has been referred to as ‘The Moneybarn Car’, due to its prominent orange which replicates the Moneybarn logo. People have been approaching me about Moneybarn and who and what they are! It’s also been great to see the adverts at service stations and to hear of people going to the darts and seeing them.

We then went on to find out more about Seb’s career in racing so far…

Q. What was your highlight of last season?

A. Getting a podium at Spa. We worked really hard for it. We had some mechanical issues and some pit stop issues throughout the season which stopped us from getting wins and other podiums.

Q. How are you feeling about the 2023 season?

A. I’m really excited for next season, we’re not 100% sure what we’re going to do yet, but you’ll find out more in March-April time
