I work as a HR Training Manager in Staffordshire, and had never had a car before, so this process was all completely new to me. So when I first passed my driving test a few years ago, I started straight away to look for a car.

I was so excited because I had this freedom I’d never had before, and all I knew is that I wanted it to look good and be cost efficient. Oh, I also wanted low mileage, and it had to be black or red with Bluetooth and a cup holder!

I started by looking online to see what I could get and found a dealership not too far away. When I went to test drive the car, they recommended Moneybarn to me as a way to finance my car.

They were amongst very few companies who were proactive in supporting me with any financial difficulties I could have. Because of this I didn’t worry about how I would find the money, as I felt really supported by them.

I don’t have the best credit, and have had a CCJ in the past, but I earn a good wage so I knew I could afford the monthly repayments. Luckily Moneybarn were able to take all my information into account and looked past my credit score. I really can’t thank them enough for this, as after spending months learning to drive all I wanted was a car to get about. Moneybarn gave me the opportunity to have a nice car, but more importantly my independence. 

In 2020, like loads of others, I was furloughed but Moneybarn helped me not to stress. Because of this I didn’t worry about how I would find the money, as I felt really supported by them.

Their approach throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has been brilliant and there were never any barriers in encouraging customers to get in contact if they found themselves in financial difficulty.

From the moment I signed my contract with Moneybarn I have nothing but positive things to say about them. From general email communication through to speaking to them on the phone I always feel valued. I honestly feel like they want to support me and always willing to provide solutions when I’ve ever had issues with payments. Which really takes a weight off my mind.

I would 100% recommend them to friends or family, especially those who might not be able to get finance with other lenders because of their credit score. They helped me to get my car and in return I’ve gained independence and freedom – and a car I’m proud to say is mine!
